Lawyers Defending Kennedy In Nurses’ Suit Are Disqualified
ATTORNEYS for a Kennedy family member fighting a civil suit by two hospital nurses have been disqualified because a judge was convinced of the plaintiffs’ need to call the lawyers as witnesses. Westchester County Supreme Court Justice William Giacomo granted the disqualification motion after the nurses suing Douglas Ken-nedy, a son of Robert F. Kennedy, over a 2012 hospital incident, insisted they needed to ques-tion the Douglas & London attorneys about their interactions with independent medical examination doctors.Giacomo disqualified Douglas & London in a July 31 ruling in

, 69514/2012.In January 2012, two days after Kennedy’s wife gave birth to a boy at Northern West-chester Hospital, Kennedy tried to bring the boy outside to get some fresh air. Nurses Cari Luciano and Anna Lane told Ken-nedy he had to put the newborn in a bassinet and needed permission to remove his son from the maternity ward.
